Britney Spears’ hubby Kevin Federline has announced he’s to make his TV debut as a rapper at the Teen Choice Awards next month.
The former dancer has decided he’s tired of waiting to properly launch his new career as K-Fed, so has agreed to take to the stage at the high profile televised event on 20 August.
He explains, “It's been building up for a long time, and the process with ‘Playing With Fire’ took a long time, so I decided to just get out there and jump on stage.”
Federline – who has been accused of being a no-good layabout who has dragged the pregant-again Britney and her career down the dumper during their two year marriage – will perform ‘Lose Control’ at the bash, which - some would say - may well be his only chance of ever appearing at an awards ceremony.

misschaotic: An earlier satirical spot claimed Britney Spears was set to channel and emulate Angelina Jolie and travel to Africa and have her second baby in Namibia.
It ran for nearly a day as an actual news story and was even picked up by the Associated Press before Jill Atkins chimed in and pointed out the brilliant satirical piece.
Now MSN Entertainment asks if Britney is channeling Angelina again.
First she dyed her hair black.
Was that to copy Jolie? Next MSN points out that Jolie just signed on to voice "Tigress" in the animated flick "Kung Fu Panda."
They then point to the new posting on Brit's web site about - what else - tigers.
But MSN ponders, is Brit's new fascination with tigers and new black hair-do another shot at emulating Angelina Jolie or just a coincidence?

britneyimages: At a Beverly-Wilshire Hotel press conference this morning, a tearful Britney Spears had this to say about a recent George Bush speech her production company put to music and released for free download on iTunes. "When I heard it, I just thought 'It's so wise! I have to imemorialize it for Preston and my other kid'." The speech was a commencement address given in May by President Bush at a little known Republican friendly university on Whidbey Island off the coast of Washington state, Screw U. The speech was discovered by Spear's current husband, Kevin Federline.
However, it's causing controversy not because of its content but because it's remarkably similar to the 1999 Baz Lurhmann single, Everyone's Free (To Wear Sunscreen). The Bush administration was quick to deny any plagiarism. "The President lives by most of the 10 Commandments," said White House press secretary Tony Snow. "Does that mean he plagiarized them? We tend to look at this as an 'inspired by' situation."

USAToday: Britney Spears' man is ready to make his debut.
Kevin Federline says viewers will be "shocked" and naysayers "surprised" at his first live performance in front of a national audience.
Fox announced Wednesday that Federline will close the Teen Choice 2006 awards show Aug. 20 by performing his hip-hop/rock single, Lose Control.
The plan is for wife Spears, who is expecting their second child in September, to be his date to the show. "This is my first big event, and I need her support and I want her support. If she's feeling under the weather because of the baby, obviously she won't be able to be there. But she'll want to be there for me."
Federline's career has been fairly quiet since he married Spears nearly two years ago, and he feels pressure to do well.
"It's been building up for a long time, and the process with the album (Playing with Fire) took a long time, so I decided to just get out there and jump on stage," Federline says. "As a dancer, it was one thing, but now it's a whole different story."

She‘s having fun. You know, she‘s pregnant. She‘s got a 10-month-old baby at home. She probably thought, “Hey, why not have a day in a photographic stereo, get my hair and make up done?” Just having a day off. You know, she‘s having fun. I don‘t think there‘s anything really that we should get too hot up about yet.
SCARBOROUGH: But you look at these pictures though. I mean, there other things she could have done on her day off to have fun, especially, again, if she‘s sitting around crying to Matt Lauer about how she wants to be left alone and wants to have privacy. Certainly, I mean, she had to know, Rob, that this was going to cause a sensation and have people talking about her again.
CHILTON: Of course, she knew. I mean, Britney has played the P.R. game very well. You know, this is what pop stars do. They make publicity stunts, and this is one of them.
And, yes, the Matt Lauer thing—you know, I think that maybe was just an emotional day for her. I don‘t think it was planned, that kind of outburst. I think that was genuinely quite an emotional day for her.
DIRMANN: You know what? I don‘t know, and I guess it‘s what‘s perplexing. You know, you said it earlier. With Demi Moore, this was a classy lady, and we gave it to her when she came out. This was sort of a statement of femininity.
So I think this—you know, you say Demi Moore was making a feminist statement and Britney is desperate. Well, you know, why is Britney not making a feminist statement here? I think, you know, we should lay off. I think it‘s a bit of fun. And it does make a great magazine cover. You can‘t deny that one.
SCARBOROUGH: Rob, quickly, do you think it‘s going to work? Will it help her career restart?

britneyexperts: Let's get one thing straight, okay? In that strange, vulgar, brightly colored section of the popular culture known as Celebrity World, the paparazzi are the lowest form of human life. I have been touched by them only peripherally, and it's been years since I really engaged their flea-like attention, yet recalling their exuberant shouts — ''Hey, Stephen, look over here! Stephen, just one more! Hey, Stephen, where ya goin'?'' — is still enough to make my skin prickle with shame and fury. The intrusion is part of it, the sense of entitlement is more of it, but the constant bray of your first name is the worst of it. They use your first name the way the cops on The Shield do when they're interviewing child molesters.
So when Britney Spears finally broke down during her interview with Matt Lauer on the June 15 version of NBC's Dateline celebrity grope, I wasn't surprised that it was the paps who pushed her over the edge. When asked what she would say to them if she could talk to them as individuals — a ridiculous idea in itself, since when working the paparazzi travel in packs, like hyenas, and when alone they don't exist — Britney replied, ''[I'd tell them] You have babies at home.... You have to realize that we're people.... We just need privacy and we need our respect.''

britneyexperts: britneyexpert: I really want to have sympathy for Britney Spears. And I hate to give the impression that I'm picking on her. But not long ago Britney went on television with Matt Lauer on NBC's "Dateline," pleading for her privacy.
She admitted that she was an emotional wreck but the interview ended up being an incredible train wreck. First, Britney looked terrible. Her skirt was too short. Her makeup was messy. When she opened her mouth, it only got worse. She blamed the paparazzi for her bad image. She didn't admit that she made a mistake by driving with her baby on her lap.
And even though she described her marriage to her husband as awesome, somehow Kevin never managed to show up for the interview. Now I have a problem criticizing Kevin because he goes around and tells people that Donald Trump is his hero. The fact is, it is a pretty strange relationship.
During that interview, Britney complained about all the media attention and tearfully begged to be left alone. I almost bought it.

The aspiring rapper, who says the public will be "shocked" by his performance, will close the awards show with his single "Lose Control," from his upcoming album Playing with Fire, USA Today reports.
"It's been building up for a long time, and the process with the album took along time, so I decided to just get out there and jump on stage," says Federline.

According to Federline, people also should not believe critics who savaged early samples of his music. "I want to prove myself as an artist, as a rapper and as a human being in society who goes through everything everybody else goes through," he said.
