On the eve of his album launch, Kevin Federline would like you to know that he's more than a baby-daddying, Venti-buying, Britney Spears-mooching goofball.
It's 7:30 A.M. on a Friday in late April, and Kevin Federline sits in the Burbank studio of Power 106 - "Where Hip-Hop Lives." He's a guest on Big Boy's Neighborhood, the drive-time morning show hosted by Big Boy and his sidekicks, Tattoo (who has ink across his forehead announcing I SLEPT WITH SHAQ) and Luscious Liz. Big Boy sits in front of a large touch-screen monitor that he uses to call up his playlist, and at a table opposite him, Federline, wearing his white-on-white Nike Air Force 1's and a T-shirt that reads HOLLA @ YO DAMN SELF, samples liberally from a tub of red rope licorice.
Federline's manager, Dan Dymtrow, whom Federline affectionately refers to as Dumb Dan and "that little leprechaun," crouches in the background alongside Federline's childhood buddy Jimmy, who is videotaping the proceedings. Jimmy's been recording for months, in the studio and on trips to Vegas (when Federline made a promotional appearance at the Vegas nightclub Pure, Jimmy tells me, "there was a line of bitches two football fields long"), and Federline's planning to use the footage in a making-of DVD that will be packaged with his debut rap album, Playing With Fire. Another friend, Eddie, sits in the hallway with Federline's bodyguard, Big Mike. When I ask if his friends call him K-Fed, Federline says, "Hell no. They know I'd slap the shit out of them if they ever called me that." Still, "that's how society relates to me," he concedes, and he seems to have worked out his own logic regarding the powers of branding. "It's not like I'm gonna sit there and tell everybody, "Don't call me K-Fed' - then everybody's gonna want to call me K-Fed. Run with what they know."

TMZ: K-Fed might not be the world's greatest rapper, but there's one thing he does claim to be "amazing" at: the GED.
The rapper-on-the-make says that he passed his high school equivalency with flying colors -- "Not that it's the hardest thing in the world," he admits. But his math skills in particular are being put to good use – he's calculated that his net worth, even after making $2 million on his TV show, is about ... zero.
His wife – Britney Spears – might be worth as much as $200 million (or so it's been reported), but Federline tells GQ magazine (via Lloyd Grove's Lowdown) that he's "almost broke," despite making a couple million on the UPN reality show "Chaotic." But regardless of his financial situation, K-Fed can always fall back on his degree, one way or another – "I actually got amazing-ass test scores on it," says K-Fed. "I got pretty high test scores for the state of California."
Meanwhile, Britney has been deemed "too stimulating" for the youth of Japan. A poster of the recent Harper's Bazaar magazine cover that shows a very pregnant Brit in all her glory (i.e., completely naked) has been censored for the Tokyo Metro. The new poster, showing the pop princess from the elbow up, will have the catchy tagline: "We apologize for hiding part of a beautiful image of a mother-to-be."

britneyexperts: To mark his history making and legendary performance at the Teen Choice Awards, rap icon, Kevin Federline, was all set to hold court at his after-party in Los Angeles Sunday. Jessica Simpson, Dane Cook, Mischa Barton, Brandon Routh, the Olsen twins and Nelly Furtado were just some of the big names invited, but the only celebrity to show up was his wife, Britney Spears. A source says:
After everyone saw Kevin's performance, no one wanted to be stuck having to pretend it was good."
Poor Kevin. It seems like the whole world hates him, and this is one of the main reasons why. He truly believes he's talented. Throwing an after-party to celebrate Kevin's "performance" would be like throwing an after-party because you killed your tenth hooker. Sure, they're both technically reasons to throw a party, but you really shouldn't be surprised when nobody shows up.

The wannabe rapper is annoyed by the unattractive portrait of him painted by the media, who suggest he takes advantage of his wife BRITNEY SPEARS' wealth and generosity, particularly because he has been unemployed for much of their relationship. Simpson was hosting the show and the heavily pregnant Spears was there to introduce husband Kevin Federline's debut performance as a rapper. After Simpson made her request, Spears immediately shot back, "Hell, no!" A backstage witness confirms the incident saying, "Jessica was really insulted, but Britney refused to let her do it."

britneyexperts: There's nothing like a little retail therapy to make a heavily pregnant mum-of-one feel better but when you're Britney Spears a little means blowing $5,000 in a 30 minute shopping spree.
The pop princess was spotted in LA checking out some outlandish clothes that included a multi-coloured spotted dress, stripy pink cardigan and denim hotpants.
And while 11-month-old son Sean Preston slept in the car, watched by security, Britney was all smiles as her wallet clearly was not the only thing bulging during her shopping splurge.
The 24-year-old, who is due to give birth to her second child next month, told staff at trendy Intuition she couldn't wait to get back in shape so she can wear some stylish clothes.
But for the time being, brunette Britney had to make do with some more sensible items, and eventually walked out with a straw hat, maternity jeans, expensive perfume and a designer bag.
Rumours of a split with husband Kevin Federline continue to surround the star, who ventured out without him - however, this may have just been down to the wannabe rapper's recent shopping ban after he spent thousands of dollars of her money on bling items and lads holidays to Las Vegas.
An onlooker said: "She seemed in good spirits but there was no ring on her finger. She was also having a good look at all the baby clothes, especially all the cute little T-shirts."

britneyexperts: Kevin Federline gives his performance at Sunday's Teen Choice Awards the thumbs up, he tells PEOPLE in its new issue.
"I'm happy," says Federline, whose first album is due in October. "I think I pulled it off pretty well. (But) I'm overly critical of myself."
Federline closed the show with a performance of his song "Lose Control," introduced by his wife, Britney Spears. "This show has been very good to me and my career over the years," Spears said onstage. "And I'm hoping that it will be as good to our next performer."
After the show, Federline tells PEOPLE, "We went straight from there and jumped in the Ferrari and took off. (Britney) was happy, she was proud. … My whole family and everybody was there."
While he says he'd like to improve his stage presence, Federline is looking forward to remaining in the public eye.
"September 5 we're launching the video," he says. "There's a lot of good things going around here."

When in Vegas for the World Series of Poker, I was unlucky enough to run into K Fed. The sight of anyone pouring Patron on their head & drinking it straight out of the bottle, while shoving his bling in the camera & singling along to Rick Ross’ “Hustlin” is a bit disturbing, no matter how tipsy I was! He is a hottie, but not only does he look dirty, I cannot possibly get over the damage he has done to Brit! Of course her song, performance, and life choices are in her hands…we all know the influence a man can have. Especially over a lost soul that had been so misguided in the entertainment industry. Not only that, but she was dumped by one of the hottest stars, Mr. Timberlake; she definitely did not trade up.
