Britney Spears' comeback is going to tale place a lot faster than most thought. Yep, Britney Spears' much anticipated comeback begins next week.
Spears has got fans buzzing about when she'll make her big comeback performance after reportedly pulling the plug on a show in Los Angeles late on Wednesday night.
Britney Spears reportedly spent all day Tuesday rehearsing at Ivan Kanes Forty Deuce, where she swapped costumes with dancers in December. On the club's website, boss Ivan Kane says, "She came on stage during rehearsals, looking very hot, with four back-up dancers and sang three songs ... they ran through the set several times, the choreography was smokin', and she sounded great."
She was supposed to perform Wednesday night but apparently decided that she needed more time to rehearse for her comeback performance, and left fans extremely disappointed.
We do know, however, that Britney is scheduled to perform next Wednesday at the Anaheim House of Blues under the band name M+M's. We have comfirmed this from two additional sources. The "band" will also be playing the Sunset Strip HOB on Thursday.
According to our tipster, the M+M's consist of Britney and "3 or 4 back up female dancers."

Britney Spears was pulled over by Beverly Hills police for allegedly speeding but was let off with a warning, authorities say.
She was driving along Sunset Boulevard when she was stopped at 8:45 p.m. Friday.
"She was pulled over for speeding," says Sgt. Mike Foxen of the Beverly Hills Police Department. "She was warned about her speed and let go. She was not cited."
Earlier in the day, Spears had done intense workouts at the Millenium Dance Studio, getting into shape to return to performing. She also has been in the recording studio with music producer JR Rotem, whom she briefly dated.
"Everyone talked about how happy she looked to be back in the studio," says a source. "She came in focused from the start. She's always been a pro when it comes to her music."

Sir Anthony Hopkins has spoken out in defence of young celebrities such as Britney Spears, recalling his own memories of his youth.
The actor compared himself to Spears and Lindsay Lohan, and admitted he empathises with their troubles. Hopkins was notoriously wild in his younger years, including fighting an addiction to alcohol.
"When I was younger, at the height of my really self-destructive behaviour, I went through a period where I drank too much and the rest of it. I see young successful kids now freak out and I suppose I was like that."
He admitted that his saviour was his own decision to turn his life around: "I thought, 'I don't want to go around being depressed for the rest of my life.' So I stopped and my life changed gradually."

Pop singer Britney Spears has opened a paparazzi contest for fans and has asked them to pry on their friends and take their best shots, to win an iPod.
The contest is a promotional strategy for the singer’s new Midnight Fantasy fragrance.
In the emails written by Spears to her fans, she has asked them to ‘share what happens to you when the clock strikes 12... Where are you? Who is with you? "Savour every last detail and when you think you have it down, recreate that perfect moment and capture it as best you can in a digital photograph’.
However, the singer, who was earlier criticised for pantyless partying, has warned the participants against ‘nudity’ and ‘violent depictions’.
"No images containing nudity, obscenity or violent depictions are permitted,” Contactmusic quoted Spears’ email.

LOS ANGELES (April 25, 2007) -- On the heels of a public feud with her own dad, is Britney Spears making nice with another pop star papa?
According to a report in the New York Daily News' Rush & Molloy column, Joe Simpson has been in talks with Brit about taking over as her manager, just like he does for his own daughters Jessica and Ashlee.
The report claims Joe even tried to set up a weekend meeting with Britney, who recently fired her manager Larry Rudolph.
However, sources have confirmed to Access these reports are not true.
Earlier this week, Britney and her dad Jamie engaged in a war of words over Brit's recent problems, with her dad saying it was her own fault if she loses her kids and her career.
Jamie made the comments to Page Six after Britney fired Rudolph.
"He was doing what her mother, father and team of professionals with over 100 yeas of experience knew needed to be done. She was out of control," Jamie said. "Unfortunately, she blames [Rudolph] and her family for where she is at today with her kids and career."

After seeing the comments, the pop princess proceeded to respond.
"I am praying for my father. We have never had a good relationship. It's sad that all the men that have been in my life do not know how to accept a real woman's love," Brit said in a statement to the New York Post. "I am concentrating on my work and my life right now."
Meanwhile in other Britney news, Star magazine is reporting on another possible business collaboration - this time with booted "Idol" Sanjaya Malakar.
The magazine claims Britney is eager to work with "Idol's" hair-raising sensation.
"Britney started watching 'American Idol' when she was in rehab," Star quoted a source as saying. "She became a huge Sanjaya fan and thinks the two of them can make beautiful music together."
However, a rep for Spears told Access it sounds like Sanjaya could be the one who planted this idea in the press.

Britney Spears shaved her head as a tribute to her aunt who had died from cancer, according to a friend of the star.
The singer stunned the world when she cut off all her hair in full view of paparazzi camera crews at a Los Angeles salon in February (07).
She followed the stunt with a spell in rehab - but a pal claims Spears was suffering post-partum depression and grief and shaved off her hair as an act of "solidarity".

Pop star Britney Spears is apparently eager to work with just dumped American idol contestant Sanjaya Malakar, in order to revive her dwindling career.
According to a report set for publication in this week's Star Magazine, Britney is a huge supporter and admirer of Sanjaya.
"Britney started watching American Idol when she was in rehab. She became a huge Sanjaya fan and thinks the two of them can make beautiful music together," the National Ledger quoted a source, as telling the magazine.
And now that Sanjaya has been voted out of the show, he will have ample time to spare. According to the report, Britney, who is striving to make a comeback, wants to take advantage of Sanjaya's vast pre-teen fan base.
"Britney wants to cash in on some of the Sanjaya mania because he is getting so much attention right now she feels that if the two of them record a record together it will help get her back on the chars," the source said.
The report states that the 'Toxic' singer has already asked her agents to contact Sanjaya. Meanwhile, Malakar was invited for the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner.

Britney Spears' father has criticized the troubled pop princess' decision to sack her longtime manager Larry Rudolph, after he forced her to go into rehab.
Rudolph was sacked last week (13Apr07), reportedly because of his intervention after a difficult start to the year, during which Spears partied every night for a month and then shaved her head.
Jamie Spears claims Rudolph was chosen by the singer's family to encourage her to seek help at Malibu, California's Promises Clinic in February (07).
