The singer, who recently split with hubby Kevin Federline, decided to quit fellas just as she was voted “Bachelorette Babe of the Year” by US TV viewers.
Sources say she reached her decision after a string of late-night chats with her new best pal, Paris Hilton.
A Hollywood source said: “Paris gave herself a sex ban to put a stop to the she had with the guys in her life.
“She has got really close to Britney and they have been pouring their hearts out to one another about relationship bad luck.
“Britney may have thousands of male fans but she’s decided that staying away from the guys is the best thing.”
Britney, 25, who’s mum to babes Sean Preston and Jayden James, hit the town hard after her split from dancer Federline in November.

In recent weeks, she has been linked with record producer Jonathan Rotem, 28, oil heir Brandon Davis, 25, and hunky actor Mario Lopez, 33.

In a year of many big splits -- Kid Rock and Pamela Anderson, Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, Paul McCartney and Heather Mills -- Britney Spears and Kevin Federline still managed to be their own special case.
First, some perspective. Travel with us back to April 29, 2004, the first mention of Federline in Star-Telegram archives: "Britney Spears cavorted for a week in Los Angeles with a dancer from her show. Oh ... and he's got a seven-months-pregnant girlfriend," said a wire report, which almost prophetically added, "Will it end in marriage (and quick annulment)?"
Two months later -- and less than six months after Spears' first marriage -- the engagement was confirmed. Three months after that, Spears, then 22, and Federline, then 26, married on Sept. 19, 2004. Despite being mocked in the media for such activities as Brit's entering a public restroom without shoes, the couple seemed to be doing well for a while. They even had two sons: Sean Preston, born Sept. 14, 2005, and Jayden James, born Sept. 12 of this year. But even before Jayden was born, the British tabloid Daily Mirror reported in May that Spears had banished Federline to the basement of their California home because of his hard-partying ways. Kylie Minogue has been named the most inspirational celebrity of the last year.
Readers of teen mag Sugar voted for their favourite stars and Kylie, who overcame a battle with breast cancer this year and returned to the stage in her world Showgirl tour, was the clear winner.
She was followed by platinum blonde singer Christina Aguilera, who recently celebrated her first year of marriage and kicked off a massive tour.
Another singer came in third position. Newly single Hilary Duff followed Kylie and Christina in the inspiration stakes.
British stars Lily Allen and Charlotte Church rounded up the list of the top five.
Commenting on the votes, Sugar editor Annabel Brog said Kylie "couldn't be any more inspirational".
"She's friendly, gorgeous, talented - and this year she's shown just how strong she is too," Ms Brog said of the 36-year-old star.

Britney Spears wants to adopt a tsunami orphan. The singer - who recently filed for divorce from Kevin Federline - fell for a four-year-old boy called Wang, from Bali, who lost his entire family in the 2004 Indian Ocean tragedy, after reading about his plight.
A source said: "She instantly wanted to help him and is sponsoring him until she can find out more. And she has even written to officials seeking advice. The tsunami disaster was a tragedy very close to Britney's heart and she has dedicated a lot of her time to its charities."
Britney - who has two children with her estranged husband, Sean Preston, 15-months-old and three-month-old Jayden James - has even consulted celebrity pal Madonna, who recently adopted a Malawi boy. The source added: "She is even in talks with Madonna about it and is taking it very seriously."
The 25-year-old star's decision to adopt an underprivileged child is part of her plan to make a fresh start in the new year, following her bitter split from Kevin. Britney Spears' rumoured new partner has claimed he is a good influence on the erratic star.
Music producer JR Rotem, who has been spotted out with the singer since her split from Kevin Federline, said the relationship was going well in an interview with US magazine In Touch.
He said they had been enjoying candle light dinners, long phone conversations and that she often stayed at his house. "I really care about her," he explained. "She is unique and has a great personality."
Rotem added that he would be a calming influence to balance her late-night drinking since the split. "I am clean and sober," he said. "I don't even drink coffee."

When people were asked in an AP-AOL News poll to name the villains and heroes of the year, Bush topped both lists, in a sign of these polarized times.
Among Hollywood celebs, Oprah Winfrey edged out Michael J. Fox as the best celebrity role model while Britney Spears outdistanced Paris Hilton as the worst.
Bush won the villain sweepstakes by a landslide, with one in four respondents putting him at the top of that bad-guy list. When people were asked to name the candidate for villain that first came to mind, Bush far outdistanced even Osama bin Laden, the terrorist leader in hiding; and former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein, who is scheduled for execution.
The president was picked as hero of the year by a much smaller margin. In the poll, 13 percent named him as their favorite while 6 percent cited the troops in Iraq.
On the question of celebrity role models, a pop singer's bad behavior claimed worst honors.
When asked to choose from a list of names, nearly three in 10 adults, or 29 percent, bestowed the honor of worst celebrity of the year on Spears.
The 25-year-old pop singer and mother of two young sons recently filed for divorce from Kevin Federline, her husband of two years. Pop star Britney Spears is dealing with the departure of yet another publicist in the span of only three months.
Spears has been without a personal publicist since October, after parting ways with Leslie Sloane Zelnick.
In the interim, Sonia Muckle, a publicist at Spears' label Jive Records, has been handling her less-than-favorable recent press coverage.
Now Muckle has had enough and is moving on and leaving Jive to start her own marketing and promotions company.
Muckle insists her departure has nothing to do with the pop star's recent antics, which include spending numerous nights on the town with Paris Hilton and being photographed without underwear.
She tells Radar Online, "I left of my own accord. This has been in the works for several months."
The “Toxic” singer is heading back into the studio to record her new album in January and Jive will continue to handle her publicity for the time being.
