Could it be MTV and 2003 all over again? Britney Spears is again sporting a 'Star of David' around her neck. Could this be a first step for Britney to make up with her one-time mentor Madonna? Is this the influence of new boy toy Isaac Cohen?
Us Weekly sees it this way: Spears, 25, who was raised Southern Baptist, wore Christian crosses on a regular basis before Madonna turned her on to Kabbalah in 2003.
The weekly entertainment magazine reports that the pop singer began studying the mystical offshoot of Judaism and started wearing the religion's famed red string bracelet designed to ward off the “evil eye.” Then, in May 2006, she announced that she was giving up Kabbalah, saying “my baby is my religion.”
But Spears’ neck found a new faith Monday night when she showed off her new Star of David necklace when she and Cohen, 25, were on their way home from the Chateau Marmont.

“Extra” spotted Brit in a rare public Malibu outing, as the mommy of two stepped out with her favorite men: Sean Preston and Jayden James.
Meanwhile, Britney’s ex, who is making headlines for his new Super Bowl commercial, revealed to “Extra” how he is handling the split.
“I’m just going through a lot of changes, as I have my whole life,” K-Fed confessed. “I always try to stay positive no matter what; I’m that guy who likes to rise above everything."

Paging, Dr. Luke! Britney Spears arrived in Las Vegas Wednesday morning to pay a visit to "Dr. Luke" Gottwald, the hot-shot record producer behind some of the biggest pop hits of the last few years.
In fact, Spears' manager Larry Rudolph tells Usmagazine.com that she's recording some tracks for her upcoming album (due out this fall) with the Doc the rest of this week at the Palms Casino Resort's private recording studio.
Dr. Luke, for those of you who don't read the micro-type font on CD packages, is the man behind Kelly Clarkson's hit songs "Since U Been Gone" and "Behind These Hazel Eyes," and he's also written and produced for Avril Lavigne, Pink and the Backstreet Boys.
Says a Britney pal involved with the project, "She's working with the best." Hopefully, Dr. Luke specializes in pediatrics. We're told Britney is traveling with her two boys, Jayden James and Sean Preston.

Looks like K-Fed is making good on his threat to hit up Britney Spears for big bucks.
Kevin Federline turned down a $25 million divorce settlement from the “Oops, I Did It Again” singer, according to Star.
At one point, Federline was reportedly looking for $50 million from his estranged wife and the mother of two of his children — but the source insists it’s not greed — but love of their kids.
“Kevin says that Britney offered him $10 million to walk away from their marriage and to relinquish custody of their kids, but he just laughed. Then she came back with $20 million which he turned down too,” a source told the tab “Now he says she’s offering a whopping $25 million, and that’s her final offer. He told her to take a hike! He loves his two little boys, and there’s no way he’s going to disappear from their lives.”

The 25-year-old singer is determined to return to the charts with an edgy new sound and wants British electro pop duo Chris Lowe and Neil Tennant to help.
A source said: "She heard the remixes they did for Madonna and was blown away. She hopes they can weave some of their magic on her tracks too."
Britney has vowed to concentrate on her pop comeback, after spending the past few months partying following her split from husband Kevin Federline.
An insider at her record company said: "It's virtually all done and it's not weepy stuff but uplifting pop. She's determined to be the No 1 female pop star again."
The Pet Shop Boys are known producing songs for established stars.

Maybe Isaac Cohen really is the one for Britney Spears: He's actually buying the anti-panty star some underwear.
Counterproductive as it may seem, Cohen was spotted, reports MSNBC, at luxe lingerie boutique La Bra getting some Valentine's gifts – and he walked out of the store with not one, not two, but seven pairs of panties. (He also got a La Perla tuxedo shirt, but, whatever.)
The pop princess and Cohen have been on-again/off-again, and observers were puzzled by a recent whirlwind tour of gay clubs in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, but if Isaac can truly convince Brit to put on some underwear, just imagine the other things he could do for her.

Britney Spears is finally drawing a line under her split from Kevin Federline – by selling their marital home.
The 25-year-old has placed the seven-bedroom, eight-bathroom mansion – where she and Federline spent so much time arguing – on the market for £7million.
Spears paid more than £3.5million for the 'mini-resort', which boasts a basketball court, swimming pool and two-storey playhouse, after marrying the wannabe rapper in 2004.
But the mansion has had some 'recent updating', according to estate agents, which may have influenced the asking price.
Before moving out, Spears renovated the sprawling Malibu estate – even spending £1.5million on a recording studio for Federline.

Britney Spears returned to Los Angeles with her two children Thursday afternoon after attending her aunt’s funeral near her hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana, Spears' manager Larry Rudolph confirms exclusively to Usmagazine.com.
"She's back and working," Rudolph tells Us.
Spears’ aunt, Sandra Bridges Covington, 59, passed away from breast cancer on Jan. 21 at her home in Greensburg, Louisiana. The service took place at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday in Amite, Louisiana. Covington was the older sister of Spears' mother, Lynne, 51.
A source tells Us the 25-year-old singer left L.A. on a private jet bound for her home state with her sons Sean Preston, 16 months, and Jayden, 4 months, hours after Covington's death on Sunday and returned Thursday to L.A.'s Van Nuys Airport.
According to a source, Spears and her children were then driven directly to a dance rehearsal at Screenland Studios in Burbank, California.

Gwyneth took a break from the indie-movie scene at Sundance to read to kids on Wednesday with mom-to-be Keri Russell. Unfortunately, the kids were hoping for another famous blonde. As Gwyn was being introduced as a "very special guest," one of the kids called out, "Is it Britney Spears?" Gwyneth didn't take the comment personally. Kids will be kids, after all. "I'm sorry I'm not Britney Spears," she said, "but I'll work on my dance routine." She of course quickly won them over with a sing-along and a reading of One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish.
